A winner in each category above will get the opportunity to exhibit their work in the group art show at the Unarthodox  Gallery space in Chelsea, New York City for an entire week!   All other participants’ artwork will be displayed in a large projection during the opening ceremony. All winners will also be announced in the Unarthodox social media accounts, newsletter and both local and international media channels. Winners will be displayed on the F. The Art World Website indefinitely!

In the event that any of the displayed artwork is sold, the artist receives 100% of the sale price. Unarthodox will make the initial introduction. Any and all negotiations will be made between the buyer and the artist. All art sale inquiries that are made through our website, will be directed to the artist. Unarthodox will not and does not take any commissions for work sold due to exposure in the F. The Art World Competition.

Submission Specification

Entries must be in JPEG format, no larger than 1400 x 1800 pixels, and under 2MB.
All sculptures and street art submissions should be photographed.

Exhibition Requirements

  • Photography & Digital Art – Prints should not exceed a width of 24″ and should be framed upon delivery to the gallery.
  • Fine Art/Mixed Media – Artwork should not exceed a width of 48″ and a height of 72″ and should be wired and ready to hang.
    Sculpture – Sculpture should not exceed a 4′ X 4′ footprint and should not be higher than 7′.
  • Street Art – Prints should not exceed a width of 24″ and should be framed upon delivery to the gallery.

Submission fee is $32 for up to four images. The fee covers the cost of organizing and producing the annual competition, including all staff and advertising associated with the event.

Indigo Design Award

The 2nd Indigo Design Award is now open for entries. Indigo is open to conceptual and completed designs that are five years old or less.

The four competition categories are Graphic Design, Digital Design – UX and UI design, Mobile Design, and Game Design.

Indigo is open to conceptual and completed designs that are five years old or less. We are looking for exceptional work from anywhere around the globe. We accept submissions in the following areas of expertise:

You may submit multiple entries in multiple categories and you will be notified by email when your entry or entries have reached us.

All entries must be submitted as PDF, JPEG, or PNG files, with high resolution. Please understand that we are unable to accept submissions that do not conform to our guidelines. If you have any questions on how to submit your entries, you may contact us here. Regrettably, Indigo will not be able to accept submissions after this deadline.

As part of Indigo’s mandate to reward outstanding and groundbreaking work, we take a hard line on plagiarism. Your work must be fully your own and any entries that are forged will be disqualified immediately. Additionally, we do not accept material that promotes bigotry, sexism, homophobia or qualifies as hate speech toward a group of people.

MyDesignCompetition

The main objective is to identify and promote contemporary design ideas, designed by architects and designers under 35 years old, for the African continent in general and particularly for Morocco. The contest will give the winners an opportunity to concretize their project ideas and to exhibit them at Medinit Design, held annually in the city of Casablanca, Morocco; As well as in a Design Workshop at the University of Florence, Italy.

The participants of the competition are invited to design a project of interior design  (a piece of furniture or a space with different furniture), which must integrate in its reflections the particular characteristics of the Moroccan art and architecture, with a modern and durable character, evolutionary and easily reproducible.

Illustrated Silent Book Contest 2019

The Town of Mulazzo and the Association Montereggio Paese dei Librai, IOB International Organisation of Book Towns, with the support of Carthusia Edizioni in collaboration with the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, IBBY Italia and Centro per il Libro e la Lettura (MiBACT) presents the first International contest for illustrated silent books without words.

The Silent Book Contest will give a prize money and publication to an original illustrated and unpublished book project that has been created and produced exclusively through narration by illustrated images. Given that the illustrated book and the visual language of illustrations and pictures is in no way secondary to written language, with a universal power and potential that supersedes any barrier of language or genre, the Silent Book Contest competition invites authors and illustrators to think up and design a book conceived exclusively for the telling of a story through illustrated images, on any subject and intended for a wide and diverse section of the reading public, regardless of genre or age.

From the book designs sent to the competition an international Jury will select from five to ten finalists to be announced and exhibited at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. The author of the book project selected as winner by the International Jury will receive an money prize of Euro 4.500 as advance against copyright with publishing agreement and the winning book project will be published by Carthusia Edizioni. The book will be presented at the award ceremony  in August in Montereggio (Tuscany, Italy).

Since 2018 the Silent Book Contest is dedicated to Gianni De Conno, its creator.

Gianni De Conno (1957-2017) was born in Milan, from a Neapolitan father and a Milanese mother. He loved Milan, a city of which he felt part and from which he never wanted to separate. After having split between the artistic high school and musical studies at the Conservatory he specialized in set design and then moved on to illustration.

An artist of great impact, one of the greatest illustrators of the Italian publishing scene, in which he operates a dense dreamlike vein sustained by an inclination to hyperrealism, a magical and surrealism, a sort of profoundly original creative oxymoron. Gianni De Conno was also a true “Grandmaster”, he illustrated and interpreted the world, he taught with passion and care, in this little and small editorial world, he made a lot of other extraordinary things in his work.

Over the years, the Andersen Prize has been awarded as an illustrator of the year 2005, the Award for Communication Arts of Excellence several times between 1998 and 2010. In 2008 and 2010 he obtained the gold medal from the Society of Illustrators in New York. He has published a lot in Italy and abroad, he has exhibited his work in numerous solo exhibitions around the world, in Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, Taiwan and United States.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. The Organizing Committee, formed by the Municipality of Mulazzo and the Association Montereggio Paese dei Librai, member of IOB International Organization of Book Towns Italy, with the contribution of Carthusia Edizioni, the collaboration of Bologna Children’s Book Fair and the patronage of IBBY Italy and the Center for Book and Reading (MiBACT), presents the 2019 International Silent Book – Gianni De Conno Award. The competition is exclusively reserved for new and unpublished illustrated books without words. The subject is open and not restricted to any age group and readers. The narration must be carried out exclusively through illustrated images and have narrative and stylistic coherence.

2. Authors, illustrators and artists of any nationality, place of origin or residence may participate, with original and unpublished projects, provided they are not less than 18 years old on 31st December 2018. It is possible to participate with one to a maximum of three unpublished projects for each Author.

3. From the book projects enrolled and sent to the competition by January 31st 2019, an International Jury, nominated by the Organizing Committee will select from five to ten final book projects from which will be judged the winner of the International Silent Book Contest 2019 – Gianni De Conno Award.

4. The book projects entered in the competition must be sent anonymously following the instructions given in the section “On-line registration procedure for submitting material”. Book projects submitted and not corresponding to the Participation Methods or incomplete book projects will not be admitted.

5. The International Jury, nominated by the Organizing Committee, is formed of seven personalities of recognized prestige and professionalism in the publishing world, illustration and literature. The members of the International Jury will be published on the official website of the Silent Book Contest Contest and on the official Facebook page.

6. The book project proclaimed winner of the Silent Book Contest 2019 by the International Jury will be published by September 2019 by the publisher Carthusia Edizioni of Milan (Italy) which will insert it and promote it in its editorial catalog. The author will received a money prize of € 4,500 (four thousand five hundred Euro)* as an advance on royalties and a regular publishing contract according to international standards. The award ceremony will take place, approximately, at the end of August 2019 in the Municipality of Montereggio di Mulazzo (MS).

*In case that the winning project is a collective work of two or more authors, the money prize will be equally divided among them in equal parts and the publishing contract will bear the names of both/all the author.

7. The International Jury has the final decision: to not admit in competition book projects not corresponding to what is specified and contained in the Rules and / or Participation Procedure, to nominate among the projects admitted to the competition a lower number of finalist projects to five or more than ten, and also reserves the right not to proclaim a winner of the Silent Book Contest 2019 if the projects are not worthy of publication.

8. To enroll in the contest the Authors have to accept the Rules and Participation Methods and the payment of a registration fee of Euro 50 (fifty) for each project submitted. The payment of the registration fee must be made only by 31th January 2019. It is possible to present a maximum of three unpublished projects for each author. The payment of the enrolment fee is not reimbursable.

PROCEDURE TO TAKE PART

A. The book project must not contain words, with exclusion of the title and possible subtitle. The narration must be realized exclusively through the illustrations and have narrative and stylistic coherence. There are no limits regarding age or reader group, and the subject matter is open.

B. The International Jury reserves the right at its sole discretion to assess the adequacy and correspondence of the projects presented in the competition with the characteristics specified above and to confirm whether or not they are admitted.

C. The Author undertakes, under his sole responsibility, to ensure that the illustrations included in the book project are original and unpublished works, as well as the project presented in the competition, absolving the Organizing Committee, the International Jury and the Editor who will publish the winning book project, from any moral and legal responsibility in case of projects book and / or illustrations presented in violation of this regulation, copyright and / or in case of plagiarism to third parties.

D. No book projects that contain illustrations featuring either single words or partial texts will be accepted for selection. Pop-up books, cartoons and comic strips without words and “colouring book” will no be accepted. Furthermore, book projects containing photographic images, or that are not illustrated, or that do not correspond to the present definition of illustrated images will also not be accepted for selection.

E. The illustrations featured in the book projects can be in colour or black and white, with unlimited traditional or digital techniques and media.

F. The book project should be presented on double pages with a open format of 57cms in width by 28.5cms in height (to give a closed format of 28.5cms x 28.5cms and opening from right to left) and with a prefixed number of double pages : 14 double pages in basic 57 cm format x 28.5 cm in height, plus front and back cover.

The Book projects sent in different format, due to excess or defect, from the one specified above and / or exceeding by excess or defect by the number of pages will not be admitted in the competition.

G. The book project must be presented scrupulously following these indications:

• It will be complete with the number of 14 double pages, plus front and back cover in the format indicated in point D, complete with all the definitive internal illustrations paginated and the final cover illustration.

• The complete layout, as described above, must be sent exclusively as a digital file in high quality PDF format by 31st January 2019. To send the digital book project, refer to the section “Online registration procedure for submitting material”.

H. Will not be admitted to the selection: book projects with partial or incomplete layouts and book projects exceeding, due to excess or defect, from the dimensions specified in point D and / or exceeding excess or defect from the number of pages in point D. Will not be admitted projects submitted in a manner other than those listed in the dedicated section or sent after 31th January 2019. Do not send original illustrations and paper layouts.

I. Book projects must be sent anonymously.

L. The digital dummy must show only the title of the project on the front cover, which should be considered as temporary with regard to any possible publishing as a winning book project, and the author’s pen-name.The digital files must be named exclusively with the title of the Opera/Project and the author’s chosen pseudonym. See the “Online registration procedure for submitting material” section for instructions on how to properly name the PDF file.

M. The application enrolment form, the upload of PDF file, the enrolment fee payment must be done on-line by accessing the web site www. silentbookcontest.com and following the instructions of the “Registration Section”. The registration must be completed within by the 31st January 2018.

LAMP 2019 – International Lighting Design Competition & Exhibition

L A M P aims to introduce a broader audience to lighting design while promoting and connecting emerging talents to new markets. Each year the competition challenges designers to approach their lighting fixtures with the guidance of a theme.

L A M P is excited to announce its partnership with Design Milk moving forward into the 2019 International Lighting Design Competition. The 6th edition of L A M P is sending out a call for entries to designers worldwide to submit their designs to be juried by some of the industry’s top professionals. Top Ten Finalists from each category will be displayed at the annual L A M P Exhibition that opens IDS Vancouver Offsite in September 2019.

Morisawa Type Design Competition

Morisawa Type Design Competition has been giving birth to new typeface designs for decades since the first competition held in 1984. Through entries with bold ideas and new attempts in anticipation with unprecedented expressive capacity, the last competition in 2016 received more than 700 entries from 49 countries and regions, including both Kanji and Latin categories.

Morisawa Inc. will examine entries for Akashi Award. The judges will comprehensively evaluate whether your work is new and progressive as a variable font.

World Illustration Awards 2019

The World Illustration Awards are the most prestigious annual juried competition open to illustrators from all over the world.

The Awards are delivered by the AOI in partnership with USA-based Directory of Illustration, building on a 40-year tradition of the AOI organising juried survey competitions.

Our 40-year Awards History

The AOI first ran an annual competition, called Images, in 1975 that was open to any British Illustrator. It was unique then, as the selection for the publication was made by a jury, selecting the best contemporary submissions each year to be published in the annual. In 2012, Images was replaced by the AOI Illustration Awards. These ran for 2 years, before The AOI formed a partnership with the Directory of Illustration in the USA and created the World Illustration Awards in 2015.

Puchi Award seeks for the most innovative,
groundbreaking, vibrant book proposals in any genre, focusing entirely on their boldness and their links with present-day art languages.

We’re looking for a book.
La Casa Encendida and Fulgencio Pimentel
are pleased to present the third Puchi award.

The competition is open to books in any genre or form:
fiction, non-fiction, poetry, novels, comics, picture books,
essays, cookbooks, geography books, combinations of the above
or any other type imaginable. We’re looking for one-of-a-kind book, or even a whole new kind of book.

The Puchi award will be governed by the following rules:

This competition is open to literary and graphic projects of any kind that stand out by virtue of their premise, literary and graphic quality, originality, unconventionality or mould-shattering conception. A book can contain everything and anything, and that is precisely what this contest wants: fiction and non-fiction, essays, informative literature, poetry, illustration, comics, cookbooks, geography books, combinations of the above or any other type of work.

The aim of this award is to shine a spotlight on works of the highest quality and originality.

Elegibility

All authors of legal age from Spain or any other country are eligible to submit one or more original, unpublished works.

Dates

Projects may be submitted between 11 October 2018 and 31 January 2019 at 10:00 pm (GTM+1), both dates included. Submissions sent before or after this period will not be accepted.

Prize

The winner will receive a cash prize of €8,000 (VAT and all other taxes included, as an advance on the rights of the published work) and have his/her work published and distributed by Fulgencio Pimentel.

Excepcionally, a Special Jury Award may be awarded. This excepcional award would imply the project publication.

Requirements

Projects must be submitted via the form posted on the website of La Casa Encendida.

Contestants may submit works-in-progress or finished works that have never been published, at least not with an ISBN and/or for commercial distribution. Projects must be accompanied by either the pseudonym or real name of the author (or authors, in the case of collaborative works).

Each author or co-author of the project must submit:

  • A completed entry form
  • A curriculum vitae (one for each author)
  • National ID, foreign resident ID or passport
  • Brief summary of the work and statement of motivation (max. 2,000 characters with spaces)
  • List of production requirements, if any (max. 1,000 characters with spaces)
  • Finished work or excerpt in the case of works-in-progress

Works may be written in any language, although a provisional translation into English of at least two pages must also be submitted. The entry form, curriculum vitae, summary and statement of motivation, and production requirements must all be submitted in English.

Materials may be uploaded to the website in the following formats:

  • PDF up to 15 MB
  • Images: JPG up to 10 MB; images must measure 900 x 540 (w x h), with one side equal to and the other side equal to or less than the stipulated measurements for width and height, according to the proportions of the original image (maximum of 15 images)

Previous works may also be shown, following the guidelines provided on the website.

Submitted works that do not comply with these requirements will be disqualified by the jury.

Publication

The award recipient will grant the publishers exclusive worldwide rights to the winning work, including all reproduction, distribution, public communication and transformation rights, for a period of 10 years. Reception of the prize money is contingent on the completion and publication of the winning work. If the award recipient fails to deliver the finished project by the date(s) agreed upon by both parties, the organisers may demand reimbursement of the total prize amount.

The winner will be entitled to receive 25 copies of his/her work. The publishers may exercise their rights to the winning work for themselves or sign any exclusive or non-exclusive agreements with third parties deemed necessary to facilitate the exercise and application of those rights and in various forms in other countries.

The author will not be entitled to any sums other than that received as a cash prize, which for contractual purposes will be treated as an advance until the amount has been settled in full.

Jury

Fulgencio Pimentel and La Casa Encendida will appoint a preliminary review panel, which will read the submissions and shortlist 10 works to be considered by a jury of renowned judges. The number of shortlisted works may be increased if the review panel deems it appropriate in light of the quality of the works submitted. The jury will consist of two prominent personalities from the world of publishing and the arts, one representative of La Casa Encendida and one representative of the Fulgencio Pimentel publishing house.

The jury’s decision will be final, and the competition may be declared void. There will be no runners-up prizes, and the names of shortlisted authors will not be disclosed. Only the sealed envelope with the name of the winning work will be opened. All documentation submitted to this contest, except that of the winner, will be destroyed, and there will be no correspondence with authors competing for the award. Participation in the Puchi Award implies full acceptance of the award rules.

Publicity

  1. The authors are responsible for registering submitted works with the Intellectual Property Register (Patent Office) and for the potential consequences of failing to do so from the moment a work is submitted to the competition.
  2. Projects financed by another institution will not be accepted.
  3. Submitted works that do not comply with these requirements will be disqualified by the jury.
  4. By participating in this competition, the authors confirm that they understand and accept these rules.
  5. When the project is finished and made public, the author/s must indicate that it was made possible thanks to the support of the two participating organisations:

Confidentiality

WHAT IS A HOTEL? – IDEA COMPETITION

By its dictionary definition, a hotel is ‘an establishment providing accommodation, meals, and other services for travellers and tourists.’  This is a basic idea and perception of what a hotel is at the present. However, the competition encourages participants to debate the course of hospitality in the future or as we can put it, ‘WHAT CAN A HOTEL BE ?

The aim of this competition is to question the very notion of a hotel and confront the stereotypes and conventions of this building typology. The competition encourages the participants to explore new possibilities and come up with innovative and unorthodox solutions that can enhance and change the boundaries of hotel architecture. This is an idea competition where the participants are free to create their own vision for a hotel that could be manifested in the form of architecture, art, system, poetry,  product etc. The participants are free to re-interpret the idea of a ‘hotel’ w.r.t  to its program, function, architecture wherein the scale of intervention, functional program, specifications, dimensions and site are not given and they can be arranged by the participants to better suit their proposal.

The competition is open to everyone from all professions. We believe architecture can be more interesting, more fun and more social. Communication is omnipresent and good communication helps great ideas change the world.  We want to encourage the participants to ask questions on the essence of a hotel typology that can help them frame their narrative. We believe that indulging in a dialogue or creating a story will help the participants develop original scenarios for their interpretation of a hotel. They are free to choose their context, program and scale of intervention. We are not searching for any profound technical detailing, but some original, creative and risky architectonic conceptualisations.

All maverick innovations occur beyond the set precedents and rules, where it is aimed to widen the horizon of the existing system. When we say that we need to ask questions or indulge in a dialogue, then we need to hit the basic framework that governs this typology.

  • A hotel is a place where you stay temporarily. If the stay is temporary, should the hotel be permanent. Does it need to have a fixed footprint ? Can we move hotels? Can there be any such thing as a pop-up hotel, foldable hotels or temporary pavilion-like hotels ?
  • A traditional hotel is generally a building with ‘n’ number of rooms up for sale. Does a hotel need to have a designated building ? Can we propose any kind of habitable sleeping space as a ‘hotel’ ? Can it be a ‘network of rooms’ scattered around a place ? Can it be reduced to the size of an object, like say a bed ? Can it be a big, comfortable vehicle?
  • The function of a hotel has become very elaborate with time. It is a whole unit in itself that can provide you a variety of experiences. So are they in a way hindering the experience of the context and the environment they are located in ? Are the extra services an essential part of the hotel? Should a hotel be a bare minimum part of the contextual experience or a different experience in itself ? How should a context influence the hotel ?
  • Hotel architecture is very predictable and boring and has very less room for spatial innovation. Can a hotel not be organised as a conventional rooms around a walking aisle. Should sleeping be a private activity ? Should it be restricted to the standard version of a room ? Can sleeping happen in a common space ? Can there be different types of sleeping spaces at the disposal of users based on their resting needs during the day ?
  • A system can sometimes affect the architecture of a space in a powerful manner. Can there be an exclusive hotel space for an afternoon siesta ? Should a hotel have to be rented ? Can people exchange sleeping spaces ? Can barter be a vector to get access to a hotel space ? How can these framework changes impact hotel architecture ?

REQUIREMENTS

There is no scale, site or program to the given problem. The competition will allow for full freedom of approach to the briefs, as the participant sees fit. Intervention can be of various scales and types, from nano to macro levels. The intervention can be placed in abstract locations or specific places depending upon the narrative. Every proposal should be focussed on their concep and their story, that is clearly communicated and developed.

ELIGIBILITY

The competition is open to all,  from every age and professional background, working in groups or individually. Teams can be formed by a maximum number of 3 people. The registration fee is paid per team.

PRIZES

Prizes worth EUR 3000 are up for claim with the distribution as follows:

Organised by CBRE, the Urban Photographer of the Year competition is the largest of its kind, celebrating the richness and diversity of city life around the world by challenging both amateur and professional photographers alike to capture the essence of the urban environment.

This year’s theme invites photographers to submit photos that capture their vision of a future city.

Each entrant may submit up to 24 images; one to represent each hour of the day. The photo submitted for a specific hour need not have been taken during that hour, but should look as if it was.

Copyright in all Photos remains the property of the entrant at all times.

There is no entry fee.

Eligibility

Open wordlwide to individuals 18 years of age or older.

Prize

The overall competition winner will receive a photography trip (up to 10,000 USD) to a destination of their choice for themselves and a friend. Previous winners have visited locations including Turkey, Morocco, Bhutan and Namibia.

Regional winners will be awarded up to 1,000 USD worth of photography equipment each. There will be three regional winners, one for each region – Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific and Americas.

The winner of the mobile category will be awarded a GoPro kit. To be entered in the mobile category, your picture must have been taken on a mobile device and you must tick the mobile box on the entry page.

Instagram winner will be awarded a GoPro kit. To be entered in the Instagram category, your picture must be uploaded onto CBRE’s Instagram page.

Hourly prizes will be rewarded to the 24 standout images representing each hour of the day. Each hourly winner will be awarded a camera bag.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS (“OFFICIAL RULES”)

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.  A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.  THIS CONTEST WILL BE GOVERNED BY ENGLISH LAW.  DO NOT ENTER IF YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE. 1.  ELIGIBILITY:

Open only to individuals 18 years of age or older as of date of registration. Employees, officers and directors of CBRE, Inc. (“Sponsor”) and its parent, subsidiaries, and affiliated companies, advertising, promotion or production agencies, Web masters/suppliers (and their immediate family members [spouse, parents, children, siblings etc.] and individuals residing in the same household, whether or not related) are not eligible to enter.  By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules and decisions of the Sponsor and/or its independent judging agency are final and binding in all respects.  Void where prohibited, or restricted by law. Subject to all applicable laws and regulations.

2.  CONTEST TIMING:

The Contest begins and therefore the period for submission of entries into the Contest begins on 13 November 2018 at 12:00:00 pm Greenwich Mean Time (“GMT”) plus 1 hour (i.e. British Summer Time)”) and ends on 31 January 2019 at 11:59:59 pm “GMT”  (the “Contest Period”). The Sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeping device for the Contest. All entries must be received by the Sponsor no later than the end of the Contest Period.  Any entries received after the Contest Period ends will be automatically disqualified.

3.  CONTEST ASSIGNMENT:

The Contest invites the entrant to submit original photos capturing what the entrant considers to be the essence of “The Connected City,” at any time of day, be it poignant, inspiring, quirky or amusing (the “Photo” or “Photos”).

4.  TO ENTER:

To enter the Contest, visit www.cbreupoty.com (the “Website”).  Then, follow the online instructions to register your details including your age range and then upload and submit your Photo(s) and specify which hour of the day each Photo is meant to represent.  The Photo submitted for a specific hour need not have been taken during that hour, but should look as if it was.
Each entrant may submit one Photo that represents one hour of the day, up to a total of twenty-four (24) photos (each representing a different hour of the day) per person for the entire Contest Period.
Photo Guidelines (failure to meet these guidelines including for photos taken on a mobile device will result in entries being discounted and entries will not be judged):
• Photos must be in .jpg format;
• Photos must at least 300 dpi;
• Photos must be saved in RGB/SRGB colour;
• Photos must be between 1MB and 8MB in size; and
• The Photo cannot have previously won any promotion or competition of any kind.
• Watermarks are allowed but not encouraged. If your photo is selected as a winner, you will be expected to supply a photograph without a watermark for use in any competition promotion, including the Urban Photographer of the Year coffee table book.
Photos may be submitted that have been taken on a mobile device (i.e. a smartphone or tablet).  Entrants will be asked to confirm whether the device used was a mobile device.  Sponsor may check to confirm that photos have been taken on a mobile device. Any attempt to submit a Photo as a “Mobile Photo” that is not in fact taken on a mobile device will result in the entry or entries not being considered. Selecting “mobile” for Photos will enter the Photos into the Mobile category. Photos in this category may be eligible to win higher categories of prizes but will not retain the Mobile Prize (further details below).
Content Restrictions:
• The Photo must comply with these Official Rules;
• In its sole and absolute discretion, Sponsor may reject any Photo that i) includes material or subject matter that is inappropriate, obscene, sexually explicit, defamatory, disparaging, unlawful, offensive, false or misleading, ii) depicts or promotes the consumption of alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, or the use of firearms or weapons, or iii) includes personally identifying information or similarly defined personal information in  applicable privacy legislation (“PII”) of any kind (this includes an image of an identifiable person), other than in circumstances where the entrant has obtained explicit consent from the individual to whom the PII relates. If the entrant cannot provide evidence that the individual has given such consent, the entry / Photo may be discounted;
• The Photo must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, trademark rights, image rights or that constitutes copyright infringement OR which otherwise is in violation of any applicable law which the Entrant is subject to in his/her jurisdiction;
• Entrants agree to not post, e-mail or otherwise submit anything that knowingly contains software viruses or any other computer code, files, or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to remove any Entry and disqualify you from the Contest if it believes that the Entry fails to conform to the above Photo Guidelines and/or Content Restrictions or any restrictions set forth in the Official Rules or if you provide false information in entering the Contest, or if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the Contest.
Receipt of Entry will not be acknowledged or returned. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor.   Sponsor does not accept responsibility for any entries including for equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, ENTRANT ACKNOWLEDGES (WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE LICENCE SET OUT BELOW) THAT HIS/HER PHOTO MAY BE POSTED (IN THE SPONSOR’S SOLE AND ABSOLUTE DISCRETION) ON THE WEBSITE.
By entering, each entrant warrants and represents the following with respect to their Photos: (a) entrant is the sole and exclusive owner of the Photo; (b) the Photo is entrant’s own creation and is 100% original; (c) publication of the Photo will not breach any rights of any third parties; and (d) Photos are in accordance with these Official Rules.  Any such entrant will indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor and Releases (as defined in Section 7 below) from any claims to the contrary.
By entering, you acknowledge that Sponsor has no obligation to use or post any Photo you submit.
By submitting a Photo, entrant grants Sponsor and its agents, affiliates and subsidiaries a perpetual, unlimited worldwide royalty free license (including the right to sub license), for the maximum legal term of the Photo’s copyright protection, with full title guarantee and right to post, publish, and otherwise make use of, entrant’s first name, last initial, address (city/state/country), likeness or picture, biographical information, Photo description(s) and any Photo submitted in publication and/or on the internet, for advertising and/ or promotional use in any media in connection with and/or related to the Contest or a similar competition run by the Sponsor or any of its group companies without notice or compensation of any kind.   For this purpose, the entrant undertakes to conclude and sign all the agreements and documents considered to be necessary in order for the license to be valid and effective
Entrant agrees that all applicable taxes, fees and other levies on any prize are solely the winner’s responsibility.
Copyright in all Photos remains the property of the entrant at all times; however, in addition to the above license, entrants agree to the maximum extent permitted by law, to waive all or not to assert any of their moral rights in the photos (or equivalent rights anywhere in the world) as against the Sponsor and its agents, affiliates and subsidiaries in particular but without limitation the right to be referenced as the photographer or owner of the image or to modify in any way the submitted Photos to the extent permitted by law.

5.  JUDGING:

This is a skills-based competition and eligible Photos will be evaluated by the Judges as a panel in accordance with the following skills-based judging criteria which shall be weighted and balanced in the sole and absolute discretion of the Judges (“Judging Criteria”):

Judging will take place in February and March 2019 and the Judges’ decision will be final.
For Photos submitted by an entrant that is over 18, the Photo that receives the highest total scores based on the Judging Criteria for each hour of the day will be deemed a finalist (each, a “Finalist” and collectively, the “Finalists”).  Each Finalist will receive an Hourly Prize and will be eligible for consideration as a potential Regional Prize Winner and potential Grand Prize Winner. The Finalists selected for Regional Prizes and eventually the Grand Prize will not retain and will not be awarded with the “Hourly Prize” which will then be awarded to the next highest ranked Photo.
A Regional Prize Winner will be selected from each of (i) Asia Pacific (ii) the Americas and (iii) Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The highest rated photo from the regional shortlists will receive the regional prize. The overall winner (Grand Prize Winner) will be selected from the Regional Winners. The Grand Prize Winner selected will not be awarded the Regional Prize if selected for the Grand Prize.  The Regional Prize from that region will be awarded to the next best Photo from the same region.
Entries that have been marked as “mobile” entries will also be considered for the Mobile Prize but will also be eligible for the Hourly Prize, Regional Prize and Grand Prize.  The Mobile Prize Winner will not also be awarded the Hourly Prize and this will be awarded to the next highest rated photo.  In the event that a Mobile Winner is also successful in winning a Regional Prize or Grand Prize, the Mobile Winner will be selected from the next highest rated Mobile Photo that has not been selected in another category.
Entrants under the age of 18 will not be considered for any category or prize including for the Mobile Prize.
Each Finalist will only be permitted to retain the highest value prize they are awarded, and will be required to forfeit any other prizes of lesser value that may have been awarded.
As a condition of entering, entrants further agree to these Official Rules and to the judges’ decisions, which are final and binding in all respects.
Photos may be reviewed prior to announcement of the winners to ensure winning photos do not violate third party rights including intellectual property rights or privacy rights in any relevant jurisdiction.  An entrant may not be awarded a prize if it is found in the Sponsor’s reasonable opinion that a photo has breached any such laws or regulations, or otherwise fails to comply with these Official Rules.

Photo Safari
The Grand Prize Winner will inform Sponsor of the proposed destination and suitable dates for travel for the Winner and proposed travel companion.  Sponsor will in its sole discretion appoint a travel agent and work with the Overall Winner and companion to confirm and agree the necessary details for the trip. Sponsor will meet the cost of flights, accommodation, taxes and other costs up to the total value of US$10,000, which will be payable to the travel agent and not to the Overall Winner or companion directly. The Overall Winner and companion will meet any additional costs associated with the trip that exceed US$10,000 including without limitation any taxes, incidentals, food, flights or accommodation, insurance, cancellations, costs for changes to bookings, tariffs or other charges.  No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any flight or lack of availability.
Go Pro Package
The Go Pro Packages will be purchased by the Sponsor once the winning photos have been judged.  The purchase will be determined based on the winner’s location to ensure ease of delivery and usability / compatibility.  The pack will have the approximate value stated in the above table, and will include a GoPro and a standard accessory bundle determined in the Sponsor’s sole discretion.
All prize details not specified in the Official Rules will be determined in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Additional prize award details and other applicable information to be provided to the winner at the time of notification. Prize(s) are non-transferable, are not redeemable for cash and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor’s sole discretion.  In respect of entrants submitting entries who are US residents, Sponsor disclaims all express or implied warranties relating to the Prizes, including without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Delivery of Prizes
B. Expenses and Taxes. Winner is solely responsible for all expenses and incidental travel costs not expressly stated in the prize description, all out-of-pocket costs, and all applicable taxes.
Winner Notification.  In March 2019 (or as soon as practicable thereafter), the potential winners will be notified via email. The Sponsor will not amend contact information once entries have been submitted.
It is a condition of the Contest that winners may be required by the Sponsor to complete, sign, and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release, evidence of consent to publication of any third party whose PII is included in the entrant’s Photo, and, where lawful, a Publicity Release within seven (7) calendar days of first notification attempt, and before the prize is awarded. No substitution, cash equivalent or transfer of prize by the entrant is permitted, but Sponsor reserves right to substitute prize with prize of equal or greater value if advertised prize is unavailable for any reason.  Limit one Grand Prize, Hourly Prize, Regional Prize, Mobile Prize per person.
Prizes cannot be claimed by a third party on behalf of a winner. CBRE will contact all the winning entries using the email address provided at registration.  CBRE reserves the right to replace any winner who fails to respond within fourteen days of first notification of their success. CBRE reserves the right, at their discretion, to publish and caption winning images, without further contact from their authors, if the fourteen-day deadline has expired. All published authors will receive their prizes once communication is established. Physical prizes (Go Pro / Camera Bag) will be sent by courier to the winner’s address; the Safari prize will be arranged with the winner as detailed above. CBRE will remain respectful of author’s rights in these circumstances.
7.  HOLD HARMLESS AND RELEASE:
Hold Harmless.  To the maximum extent permitted by law, entrants and winners agree that Sponsor and its parent, subsidiaries and affiliated companies and advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents (individually and collectively “Releasees”) will have no liability whatsoever for, and are released and shall be held harmless by entrants and winners against, any liability, for i) any losses or damage or violation of intellectual property or personal rights (such as but not limited to, copyright, trade name/trademark, and/or rights of privacy or publicity or portrayal in a false light) and ii) any losses, damage, or injury arising out of or related to the use of the prize or entry in this Contest.
8. General/Miscellaneous.
• ENTRIES POSTED TO THE WEBSITE ARE NOT EDITED BY SPONSOR AND ARE THE VIEWS/OPINIONS OF THE INDIVIDUAL ENTRANT AND DO NOT REFLECT THE VIEWS OF SPONSOR IN ANY MANNER.
• Any waiver or non-use of any rights hereunder by Sponsor does not constitute a general waiver of any other Sponsor rights.
• Releases are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or non-received Photos or e-mail, for any reason whatsoever.
• Any Persons who engage in unlawful activities in connection with the operation of the Contest, as solely determined by the Sponsor, will be disqualified.
• Any entrant not complying with the conditions of participation or with the remaining requirements and conditions of the present terms and conditions may be eliminated/disqualified from the competition.
• Neither Sponsor nor its agencies are responsible for injury or damage to entrant’s or to any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading materials from or use of the Website.
• Should any portion of the Contest be, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, compromised by technical or other failures, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest, and select the prize winner from Photos received prior to action taken or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor.
• In case of dispute, the authorized account subscriber of the e-mail account used to enter the Contest at the actual time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant, and must comply with these Official Rules.
All age restrictions are applied as at the date of an entry being submitted
If any provision(s) of these Terms and Conditions (or any part thereof) are held to be invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions (or any part thereof) hereof will remain in full force and effect.
9.  CHOICE OF LAW AND JURISDICTION:
A.  Choice of Law. These Official Rules and the Contest shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, English law.
B.  Jurisdiction. The courts of England shall have the non-exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute that may arise out of, under, or in connection with the Contest, these Official Rules, or the legal relationship established by them.
10. USE OF DATA:
Sponsor will be collecting personal data about entrants online for the administration of the Contest, in accordance with its privacy policy.  Please review the Sponsor’s privacy policy at https://www.cbreupoty.com/en/privacy-policy.  By participating in the Contest, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor’s and its group companies collecting and using of their personal information and transferring such information overseas including to the United States of America in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy and the privacy policy on the local CBRE website if you’ve been directed to these Official Rules and the Contest via that local CBRE website acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor’s privacy policy.  Entrants also agree that if they are selected as a winner, the information they have provided to the Sponsor may also be included in a publicly-available winner’s list.   Sponsor may also use your name, image and town or country of residence as part of the announcement and for any other reasonable promotional purposes.
By entering the Contest you agree that any personal information provided by you with your entry may be held and used by the Sponsor or its agents and suppliers to administer this Contest.
By entering the Contest you also agree that Sponsor may use your personal data to contact you in future if Sponsor or its group companies are running a similar contest.
11. WINNERS LIST:
For a list of the winners, visit the Website after April 2019.  The decision will be final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

Due to its policy of updating and improving these Official Rules, Sponsor may wish to change these Official Rules. If an entrant uses this Website or chooses to participate in this Contest after Sponsor has published or notified entrant of the changes, entrants are agreeing now to be bound by those changes. If an entrant does not agree to be bound by those changes, an entrant should not use the Website or participate in the Contest
